Chimay introduces Chimay Yellow, a new 6.5% blonde Trappist beer

Chimay, 2 March 2026 – The Chimay Brewery is expanding its permanent range with a new addition: Chimay Yellow, a 6.5% ABV blonde Trappist beer. Available in 33 cl bottles and on draught, this new release stands out for its subtle spice and fresh citrus character.
A refreshing, well-balanced blonde with character
“We are particularly proud to introduce Chimay Yellow, a beer that further enriches our brewing heritage,” says Pierre-Louis Dhaeyer, General Director of Chimay Beers and Cheeses. “It builds on the success of Chimay 175, a limited edition created in 2025 to celebrate the 175th anniversary of Scourmont Abbey. The response was so positive that we decided to include the recipe in our permanent range.”
Chimay Yellow pours a bright golden blonde, topped with a fine, lasting white head. On the palate, it is lively and well-balanced, with a harmonious interplay of delicate spice and fresh citrus aromas. The bitterness remains refined and well integrated. The finish is dry, lightly spicy and refreshing. At 6.5% ABV, Chimay Yellow delivers a distinctive aromatic profile while remaining highly drinkable.
An authentic Trappist beer with a social mission
Chimay Yellow carries the internationally recognised Authentic Trappist Product label. This certification guarantees that the beer is brewed within the walls of the Trappist abbey, under the supervision of the monks, and that the majority of profits are dedicated to social causes.
Chimay Yellow will be available in retail and bars/restaurants from early April, in 33 cl bottles and 20 L kegs.
